CONCORD GRAPE SORBET, MOUNTAINS AND OTHER THINGS

Hey, gang, helloooooo! I totally disappeared. Where have I been? Deep in northern Montana, a wild and ferocious landscape of craggy, perfect mountains, alpine meadows, abundant wildlife, wild people and wild places. If a place could be a spirit animal, Glacier is most certainly mine. This year I have been finishing up a few projects on top of the epic hikes, so this little space has been neglected.

And check out this homage to the end of summer, a Concord Grape Sorbet, my latest for Etsy. Even though this morning I was on top of a mountain pass in twenty-eight degree weather with little ice pellets blowing in my face and fierce winds, I still wish that I had a little around. It is pretty much perfect.

And happy last days of summer, all. I hope you’re soaking it all up.

What a contrast to be in 28 degrees when it is still so warm in many places. I’ll bet the view was pretty amazing. The sorbet is gorgeous, what a beautiful color!

oh man! i love your instagram pictures – the house your mom grew up in that your great grandpa built – what! your love for Montana has stayed with me so much and i really want to travel there now because of you – it looks so gorgeous and wild!

i am most definitely making this sorbet because it is always the right time to have something refreshing and cold in my mind.

I just finished a bowl of strawberry ice cream, and now my mouth is watering for concord grape sorbet! I adore concord grapes, and will definitely give this a try. Happy last days of summer!

Man, you are kicking my butt on finding a perfect wine pairing with sorbet :) I’m betting on a Loire Valley (France) Chenin blanc, but I have to give the recipe a try and see if it works.
