Hello, friends. I’d like to share an ongoing project with you that I am finally launching next week!
And I am actively seeking out participants for this project! You can apply here, or feel free to suggest someone you think would be great for this project in the comments. Sometimes the most amazing folks won’t nominate themselves.
Women’s Work is series of photo essays that celebrate and explore the many vocations and passions that women pursue.
At the beginning of the year, I started working on what has become one of the most rewarding projects of my life. It was originally a project to document makers. I was inspired by my time spent in the studio capturing my friend Britt’s ceramic-making process. And that is when I realized how awesome it is that women can and do pursue so many vocations, passions, and loves, when so many of our mothers’ generation had so few options. I reached out to a few women, asking if they might let me spend some time capturing their life and work. Every single one has been so powerful: there is something profound in the intimacy and trust of being able to bear witness to the work and the process and the lives of each of these women, and it is an absolute honor to be invited into their lives. Right now, we need more good stories in the world. So I am called back to this project. The first round of stories will launch next week.
