A great list once again! I agree with so many things you’ve mentioned here. I’ll go out of my way to cook something fabulous for myself from time-to-time. There really is nothing more comforting or soul satisfying, in my opinion. I also found Amanda Hesser’s piece inspiring. As far as those who thought it was depressing, I don’t think she stated anything that’s not already widely known. The sentiment that struck me the most was that there’s never been more opportunity to make a difference, in shifting the way we think about buying and eating food — to create something new. She couldn’t be more right on.

I am dying to see that movie! I saw the trailer before the Artist and Eric and I grabbed each other and squealed with joy. We’re going to pick up some sushi before and bring it with us. :-) On a random note, I used to work for Magnolia (the distribution company)… they always have great taste in independent films.

Food is such an important factor in everyone life; how can we not stop to say thank you and savor each morsel ing as appetite render us to wanting more.

Your mushroom recipe with bacon is good as it is. keep the bacon for enhancement of the flavor while cooking then remove/omit from eating bacon if one does not.
