Last year, I had a ton of fun photographing a couple events and sampling SO MUCH FOOD at FEAST in Portland. This year I’ll be back again, and I can’t wait! It’s such an amazing mix of local Pacific Northwest food folks and nationwide aficionados of fine eating and drinking. Are you going? I’d love to run into you if so!

I especially LOVED shooting this event, Twisted Filipino, helmed by the esteemed Carlo Lamagna. I loved learning more about Filipino food, and the enthusiasm and vibes coming out of the kitchen were electric and totally energizing. He partnered with a group of awesome chefs from LA: Alvin Cailan of Eggslut, Chad and Chase Valencia of pop-up restaurant LASA, Charles Olalia of RiceBar, and Isa Fabro of Unit 120. They all rocked it and were so gracious.

Completely different vibe, but also totally awesome was the Washington Wines dinner at Park Kitchen. I just think there’s something magical in the frenetic, dynamic timing of plating tons of food all at once for a dinner. I don’t think I’m cut out for restaurant kitchens, but I love witnessing it.
